Naqvi, and Maciej Matyka,<br><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.aps.org\/pre\/abstract\/10.1103\/PhysRevE.110.045103\">Inertia onset in disordered porous media flow<\/a><br>Phys. Rev. E 110, 045103 (2024)<br>Open access:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2403.00456\">https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2403.00456<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The article investigates how the flow of fluids in porous materials changes as the Reynolds number increases (0.01\u2013100). It focuses on Skupiono si\u0119 on the disappearance of preferred flow paths (channel effect), as assessed by parameters such as tortuosity, kinetic energy localization, and pore volume with negative longitudinal velocity. The key finding is that the onset of the inertial regime already occurs for Reynolds number ~0.1, which is lower than the predicted values.  Vortex structures appear at much higher Reynolds numbers (~10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work was done within the grant: NCN Opus LAP 2021\/43\/I\/ST3\/00228.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The figure presents current
