Bartosz Rusin wins the “Pearls of Science 2” project

Bartosz Rusin

We are pleased to announce that among 60 applications qualified for funding by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education within the “Pearls of Science 2” program, four were from our University, including one from the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy that was granted to Bartosz Rusin.

The aim of Bartosz Rusin’s project titled „Superconductivity in high entropy alloys crystallizing in CsCl and CuAl2 type structures” (239 800 PLN) is searching for new high entropy superconductors. So far the attention of scientists dealing with superconducting HEAs has been mostly focused on simple BBC type crystal structures. In his project Bartosz Rusin will focus on new HEA superconductors with slightly more complex structures, i.e. CsCl and CuAl2, in order to study those systems in terms of better critical parameters. His studies may contribute to finding new materials that could be later applied e.g. in constructing superconducting magnets. The academic supervisor of this project is dr hab. Rafał Idczak, prof. UWr.
